FAQs

When does the season start?

The Hawks Pre-Season begins in February, with training (in some aspect) happening 1 or 2 times per week until the season starts in April. The finals are usually at the very end of August or early September

Does is cost to play?

Yes. We’d all love to play for free but sadly playing the game in an organised comp costs money. We try and keep our fees as low as we can. Nobody at Heffron Hawks FC takes a wage for anything they do for the club – so part of the fees not used for registration and playing, go straight to the club to help with its running costs for that season.

We supply Jerseys to wear (to hand back at end of season) – You purchase socks from our online store along with other items. Shorts are supplied as part of registration.

What's included in my registration fees?

Training facilities:
Training Ground, Football equipment: Balls, cones etc., Water Bottles.
Coaching:
A structured evening of football training. Covering Fitness, ball skills and game play by coaches and their assistants.
Matches:
Around 20 weeks of competitve games, 10 weeks of pre-season.
Match Day Playing Kit:
Shirts, Shorts (you keep shorts)

Where are the games played?

Our home ground is Heffron Park in Matraville. Away games are played around the Eastern Suburbs and a few in the Sydney CBD area, Rushcutters Bay or Roseberry for example.

When are the games?

We play our Senior Men matches on Saturdays and Women on Sundays. Kick off times vary from 9am, 11am, 1pm or 3pm, but the majority of games are afternoon kick offs.

When is training?

We train on either Tuesday or Thursday nights Juniors between 4:30-7pm, Seniors from 7.15pm-9pm at Heffron Park. Contact us for up-to-date details.

If I come with a friend - will we play in the same team?

Unfortunately we cannot guarantee this. We try and grade each player on their merits and play them in the Grade our coaches feel would suit them and the team. We all socialise and mostly train together however.
